From there, the journey flowed downward through colonnades and shadowed walkways, before opening into the city’s living present streets layered with movement, light, and daily rhythm. As the hours passed, the view lifted again toward the distant horizon from Mount Lycabettus, the city stretching endlessly beneath drifting clouds. Athens revealed itself not as a single monument but as a continuous passage ancient and inhabited, sacred and ordinary where history breathes through every change in light.
Drawn first along the rim of the caldera, Santorini revealed itself in stages beginning in Fira, where height and horizon set the rhythm of arrival, white forms catching sharp morning light above the sea. The journey then drifted north to Oia, movement slowing as terraces and domes unfolded toward evening, colour deepening with each passing hour. Inland, the pace finally softened in Pyrgos, where stone, shadow, and elevation offered a quieter counterpoint to the coast. Moving between openness and retreat, Santorini emerged not as a single view but as a progression of light, scale, and stillness an island understood through transition as much as place.
